Make You Perfect

Make You Perfect

Now may the God of peace… make you perfect in every good work to do His will. And may He accomplish in us what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:21

In the beautiful prayer at the close of Hebrews, we read: “Now the God of peace… make you perfect in every good work to do His will.” The phrase “make you perfect” literally means “adjust you.” It is a great thing to be adjusted—to our surroundings, circumstances, people, and work. Rather than trying to adjust them to us, we should be adjusted to God’s will and plan for us in every aspect of life.

This is the secret to finding rest, power, and freedom in our work: allowing God to “adjust us” as we go along.
