GOD HAS CHOSEN ME

GOD HAS CHOSEN ME

I have chosen you in the furnace of affliction.
Isaiah 48:10

Chosen! This Word comes from the Lord like a soft shower, damping down the fury of the flame. Or it is like a fireman's silver suit, which protects from high heat.  Whatever the affliction that may come: let me always remember that God has chosen me!

  • Poverty may stride in at the door; but God is in the house already, and He has chosen me.
  • Sickness may intrude; but God is my comfort and my healer — and He has chosen me.
  • Whatever befalls me in this dark valley of tears; I know that He has chosen me.

Fear not, Christian; Jesus is always with you. In all these fiery trials, His presence is both our comfort and safety. He will never leave one whom He has chosen for His own.

“Fear not, for I am with thee,”
is His sure word of promise to His chosen ones, even in the furnace of affliction.

By C. H. Spurgeon

We chose this devotional from Spurgeon because of all that has happened in Texas this past week.
