A KERNEL OF WHEAT FALLS

A KERNEL OF WHEAT FALLS

Truly, I tell you, unless a kernel of
wheat falls to the ground and dies,
it remains only a seed. But if it dies,
it bears much fruit.
John 12:24

Jesus was referring to himself when he said this. And when we consider how the life, death and resurrection of Christ has changed the world, we understand the miraculous implications of what Jesus said.

The true history of the Christian Church is not through organized religion: the true history of Faith can be traced through the blood of martyrs. Their stories show how the grit and determination to serve Christ at any cost is what moved the
pure message of the Gospel forward through the ages. The martyrs led the charge and set the example for true disciples.

Because the Holy Spirit moved through them, and sustained those who suffer for Christ, the core message was untainted and unfettered and unstoppable. For every seed that died, the true Church of Jesus exploded in growth and vision.

Those who inflict suffering will be punished; but they cannot stop what God is doing on this earth. And even they have the opportunity to repent and turn to God before it's too late.

In many places around the world, even today, there are warriors for the Gospel who struggle against unimaginable evil. And even though it may appear that they fight a losing battle in the physical realm, in the spiritual world they are beacons of light.

Their example shows others that our hope is not in THIS world, but in the glorious hope that Jesus offers us: the promise of eternity in heaven as children of God. They show us that Jesus is worth living AND dying for.
