GOD NEVER FORSAKES
For the LORD will not forsake His people; He will never abandon His heritage. Psalm 94:14 God will not forsake His people, not even one of them. People may discard what they deem worthless, but God never does. His choice is eternal, and His love is everlasting. No one can find a single person whom God has saved and then abandoned.
This grand truth is shared in the psalms to comfort the afflicted. Yes, the Lord may discipline His own, but He never forsakes them. The Shepherd's staff of discipline may bring pain, but it also brings instruction. This instruction leads to a calm spirit, a sobriety of mind, and ultimately, rest.
The wicked may seem to prosper, but their path leads to destruction. Meanwhile, God’s people are being prepared for a glorious destiny. Judgment will come for the wicked, but it will also vindicate the righteous.
Therefore, we can endure God’s discipline with calm submission, knowing it is born of love, not wrath. God may chasten and correct, But He never can neglect; God may in faithfulness reprove, But He never can cease to love.
