WALK DAILY WITH GOD The LORD will command the blessing on your barns and on everything to which you put your hand; the LORD your God will bless you. Deuteronomy 28:8
What a privilege we have in the last part of this promise: “The Lord will bless you in all that you set your hand to.” We should be in the habit of asking for God's blessing on everything we put our hand to. We should be hesitant to move forward without first taking a moment for prayer and asking the Lord's direction.
And then, what a privilege it is to be able to expect the Lord’s help in every endeavor! Some talk about being lucky, but the blessing of the Lord is far better than luck. The favor of influential people is nothing compared to God’s favor. Self-reliance is fine, but the Lord’s blessing is infinitely more valuable than talent, skill, or ingenuity.
When we live in the habit of walking with God in all we do, our lives are different from the rest of the world. Wisdom guides how we save, generosity directs how we spend, gratitude keeps our hearts devoted to God, and praise makes our enjoyment sweet.
Why should the great LORD of heaven and earth take interest in my small life? And yet, this is exactly what He wants! This is why Jesus came to earth: God wants fellowship with the people He has created. He is deeply interested in who we are and what we do. He has an eternal future mapped out for each one of us personally.
Let's be thankful for this great privilege: to walk daily with God in all we do. Inspired by Charles H. Spurgeon
