THE SEVEN TRUMPETS

THE SEVEN TRUMPETS
Study of Revelation continued

REVELATION 8.2 I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. -WEB Bible

There is a very solemn atmosphere, as seven majestic angels step front and center, lining up before God's throne. These seven angels are the powerful archangels who are always allowed into God's Presence.

The ancient Book of Enoch is recognized by Christians and Jewish historians as being an authentic prophetic book, even though it’s not included in the Bible. Enoch provides the names of these seven holy archangels:

•
Uriel, who watches over the winds and elements.
•
Raphael, who watches over the spirits of mankind.
•
Raguel, archangel of justice and vengeance; watches over the celestial bodies.
•
Michael, the warrior angel who watches over Israel, and all people whose names are written in the Book of Life.
•
Saraqael, sometimes spelled Sariel; concerned with the fate of angels that violate divine law.
•
Gabriel, serves as a divine messenger for God. He watches over Paradise as well as the Seraphim and Cherubim.
•
Remiel, also known as Jeremiel, whom God set over those who rise; he is in charge of the resurrected souls in heaven.

The duties of the seven archangels are mysterious, and the description which Enoch provides is cryptic. But in these final days of earth, we see that they are front and center for the final moments of the Tribulation.

Each of the archangels is handed a trumpet. There is a formal sense of ceremony in this scene, as well as a sense of order, and power. It is appropriate that heaven's highest-ranking angels are involved, and underscores the fact that this solemn moment is a very big deal for heaven as well as planet earth.

When the seven angels have finished sounding their trumpets, Christ will return to earth as he promised.

Perhaps there is chaos on earth, but in heaven everything is well under control.

This week we’re “catching up” with Revelation,
for the whole week. Continued on Sunday.
