EARTH’S MAGNETIC FIELD IS DECAYING Earth’s magnetic field has been directly measured for a little over 200 years, and during that entire time it has shown a clear downward trend. When that measured decay rate is projected backward, it places a firm upper limit on Earth’s age.
Evolutionists try several escape routes, but none solve the problem. The first is the core dynamo excuse, the claim that motion in Earth’s liquid outer core continually regenerates the magnetic field. The problem is that even the best dynamo models still show net decay and instability. They require constant fine tuning and unobserved conditions to keep the field going for billions of years. No natural process has ever been observed reversing the long term weakening trend. The second excuse is magnetic reversals. Evolutionists argue that polarity flips somehow reset the field. They do not. A reversal only changes direction, not strength. During reversals, the field actually becomes weaker, not stronger. Flipping a dying battery does not recharge it. The average strength still trends downward. The third excuse is fluctuation claims. They say the field goes up and down naturally. That is true in the short term, but the long-term average is still declining. A bouncing ball may rise briefly, but gravity still wins. Variation does not cancel decay. The biblical model fits the evidence without strain. A strong magnetic field created at the beginning and steadily decaying explains both the last 200 years of measurements and the strict age limit they impose. Thousands, not billions. This is exactly what we should expect to see as biblical creationists. Scripture teaches that creation is not that old, and is not in its original perfect state, but is now marked by decay and wearing down. A magnetic field that is slowly weakening fits naturally within a fallen world described by the Bible. By Biblical Creation Click here to visit this fascinating
ALPHA & OMEGA The purpose for this unusual “devotional” today is to show that God has ordained a beginning and an end for planet earth. These things are beyond our control. It is not up to us to save the earth, although we should definitely be good stewards of it. The book of Revelation describes the end result of the sins of mankind. Not until Jesus returns will the earth be renewed, and even that “restart” is for a limited time of 1000 years. Tomorrow we will resume our weekly study of the book of Revelation.
