PATH OF DESTRUCTION

PATH OF DESTRUCTION

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. Proverbs 14:12

There's a lot of pointing fingers lately: who is doing this wrong, that wrong, something else wrong. All the people bashing, government bashing, Christian bashing, LGBTQ bashing. We're tearing ourselves apart with the relentless bickering and bullying, to the point of hate and violence.

I don't think it's going to stop any time soon. Reconciliation seems impossible. There are too many strong-minded people who are over-confident in their positions. There is a fierce battle for the soul of America right now and it's likely to go on until Jesus returns.
He's the only one who can settle us all down.

Of course, many people don't want anything to do with Jesus. Some people have told me so: they emphatically prefer their own path.

Others think that a little bit of Jesus is enough. A nod of acknowledgment will do it. But Jesus told us differently. He said,
"You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength." That's more than most people, even some Christians, are willing to commit to!

And yet, our eternal life is dependent on the choices we make now, in this life. This verse from the Bible tells us how to start planning for eternity with Jesus:

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:9-10
