WORD TODAY: Don't Look Back!

Don’t Look Back!

Whatever happens, my dear brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. Philippians 3:1

This has been a very difficult year.

  • Some of us went through three hurricanes unscathed, while others lost everything: buried under mud and water.
  • Some people escaped five tornados in one town while others had their entire life tossed to the winds.
  • Some people are very happy with the upcoming GOP government while others are very apprehensive.
  • Some people lost their homes, farms, and crops in roaring wildfires.

How do we deal with such extremes? I think the grief and weight of this painful year is bearing down on all of us. I do pray that by the time 2025 rolls in, each of us can be in a better place physically, emotionally and spiritually than we are now.

The Apostle Paul told us, "Don't look back", and he had good reason for saying that. I'm sure the sins of his past were painful for him. He knew that if he focused on his failures and losses, it would hinder him from moving forward. Instead, he told the Philippians, "Whatever happens, rejoice in the Lord."

Do you want to know a tip for having peace in all situations? Count the blessings that you have today, on this very day.

  • Do you have food?
  • Are the bills paid?
  • Gas in your car?
  • Family is safe and healthy?

Make a list and rejoice in the Lord's abundant provision. God will take care of your future, just as He is taking care of you today.

Forgetting the past and looking
forward to what lies ahead,
I press on… Philippians 3:14
