Antichrist & False Prophet

Antichrist & False Prophet
Study of Revelation, continued.

REVELATION 13.1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads. On his horns were ten crowns, and on his heads, blasphemous names. 13.2 The beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 13.3 One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled at the beast. -WEB Bible.
REVELATION 13.11 I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke like a dragon. 13.12 He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. -WEB Bible.

The dragon, who is called Satan, calls for two of his cronies to come help him. The one who comes from the sea is commonly known as the Antichrist. The one who rises from the land is known as the False Prophet.  These two entities are portrayed as beasts or monsters, which in fact they are. They are evil to the core.

The heads and the horns on the beasts represent human rulers who align themselves with the Antichrist and give him backing.

Satan will give all his power to the two beasts. Never before has there been such a mighty collaboration been demonic powers and mankind. Together, they will forcibly establish a new world order, and destroy all opposition to it.  For more information about the two beasts, read Revelation 13.

Unshaken in Christ

Unshaken in Christ

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. Psalm 46:2,3,5

“Shall not be moved” —what an inspiring declaration! Can it be possible that we, who are so easily moved by the things of earth, can arrive at a place where nothing can upset us or disturb our calm? Yes, it is possible; and the Apostle Paul knew it.

When he was on his way to Jerusalem where he foresaw that “bonds and afflictions” awaited him, he could say triumphantly, “But none of these things move me.” Everything in Paul’s life and experience that could be shaken had been shaken, and he no longer counted his life, or any of life’s possessions, dear to him.

And we, if we will but let God have His way within us, may come to the same place, so that neither the stress of little things of life, nor the great and heavy trials, can have power to move us from the peace that passes understanding, which is the portion of those who have learned to rest only on God.  (Philippians 4:7)

“Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God; and he shall go no more out.”  Revelation 3:12 To be as immovable as a pillar in the house of our God, is an end for which one would gladly endure all the shakings that may be necessary to bring us to that point! — Hannah Whitall Smith

When God is in the midst of a kingdom or city He makes it as firm as Mount Zion, that cannot be removed. When He is in the midst of a soul, though calamities throng about on all sides, and roar like the billows of the sea, yet there is a constant calm within: such a peace as the world can neither give nor take away.  —Archbishop Leighton

“Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.” Psalms 125:1
