COFFEE THOUGHTS

COFFEE THOUGHTS

Sip, yummy coffee! It's a wonderful good day!

As was often the case, Jesus was surrounded by hundreds of people as He walked along teaching, healing, and debating. People were there for many different reasons. There was probably lots of noise, people bumping up against Jesus. Everyone wanted an up-close view of Jesus.

And then He stopped. Someone had touched Him. “What do you mean someone touched you,” the disciples wondered.

This was different. All the jostling, the bumps, the touching, this was different.

Faith had touched Him. It’s like heaven stood still for a minute. Faith always gets God’s attention.
This wasn’t normal Americanized church faith. You know the “hallelujah, sing a song, pray a little prayer, go eat Mexican, and go home and watch football” faith.

This was a woman. She was bleeding. She probably wasn’t even supposed to be out and about. Had the right people noticed she would’ve probably have been hauled away.

12 years of sickness had just left the body. “If I can just get close enough to touch the hem of his garment. I can be healed.” She believed, she touched, and her need was met.

Jesus stopped in His tracks! Unusual faith had touched Him. Nothing has changed. All faith gets Gods attention. But unusual faith? Faith where, by all human perspective, there should not be faith anymore. The evidence seems stacked against you, but you still trust and believe.

Could it be that such faith puts you into the Hebrews 11 type faith hall of fame? Could we say such faith brings God even greater joy?
