Well There’s Jesus Now!

Well There’s Jesus Now!

Do not be afraid when a man grows rich, when the splendor of his house increases. For when he dies he will take nothing with him: his glory will not accompany him. Psalm 49:16-17

Across the years my wife Joyce and I had the honor of visiting many shrines and tombs of men and women of wealth and prominence. Some of these people were proclaimed atheists or agnostics. It literally broke our hearts to imagine the suffering that greeted them when they breathed their last!

Then I recall visiting a small cemetery in Camas, Washington, and standing beside the weathered grave-marker of my beloved grandpa, Earnest Thompson. He is the beloved saint whose last words on this earth were; “Well there’s Jesus now!”

There was joy and rejoicing in his entrance to eternity!

Across the years of our life we may experience joys as well as sorrows. In either case we need to constantly remind ourselves that the things of this world are only temporary. Our eternal home is waiting for our arrival.

That is why Christian believers can rejoice when a born-again family member marches into glory to be with Jesus, and all of the believers who have gone on before us!

May God richly bless you as you
bless others by your words and actions!

The Return of Jesus Christ

The Return of Jesus Christ

REVELATION 19.11 I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it is called Faithful and True. In righteousness he judges and makes war. 19.12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has names written and a name written which no one knows but he himself. 19.13 He is clothed in a garment sprinkled with blood. His name is called “The Word of God.”

REVELATION 19.14 The armies which are in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in white, pure, fine linen. 19.15 Out of his mouth proceeds a sharp, double-edged sword, that with it he should strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He treads the wine press of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty. 19.16 He has on his garment and on his thigh a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

MATTHEW 24.27-31  For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

It is not possible for any artist to depict this glorious scene, or even imagine it, or understand it. All we can do is read it. For those who know Jesus Christ as their Savior, this passage is very comforting, because we already know how good and righteous Jesus is. We rejoice at his long-anticipated return, when all things will be made right.

But for everyone else, this will be a terrifying moment. And for the army of Armageddon, the appearance of Jesus Christ means this is the moment of their doom.  Furthermore, every single creature on earth will bow before the LORD of all:

PHILIPPIANS 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. KJV

It should be noted that the solemn Jewish celebrations of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and the Feast of Tabernacles will all be fulfilled at this time: because the Jews will accept their Messiah Jesus Christ by then. And, Christ comes to rule and reign in Jerusalem as prophesied.

The Millennial Reign of Christ will fulfill yet more prophecies concerning Israel and Jerusalem. With the return of Jesus Christ, a new era has truly begun. His kingdom will not be established according to the repressive and corrupt human traditions of Babylon. The reign of Christ on the earth will be unlike anything we’ve ever seen.
