Song of the 144,000 REVELATION 14.1 I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him one hundred forty-four thousand, having his name, and the name of his Father, written on their foreheads. 14.2 I heard a sound from heaven, like the sound of many waters, and like the sound of a great thunder. The sound which I heard was like that of harpists playing on their harps. 14.3 They sing a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the one hundred forty-four thousand, those who had been redeemed out of the earth. 14.4 These have not been with women, for they are virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were redeemed by Jesus from among men, the first fruits to God and to the Lamb. 14.5 In their mouth was found no lie, for they are blameless. -WEB Bible. Do you remember the 144,000 evangelists who were selected from all the tribes of Israel? Earlier in the tribulation, they were sent to witness to the Jews and teach them about their Messiah, Jesus Christ. And now, there is worship in heaven once again, as the 144,000 witnesses join the rest of the saints in the throne room of God. We don't know how the 144,000 evangelists come to be in heaven, but Revelation leaves plenty of hints for us. Most likely they are martyrs. These 144,000 young men are given a special song of praise, which only they are allowed to sing. There is much joy in heaven as the family of God is gathered together at last. More will join them soon because a final harvest is coming. Next Thursday: A Final Warning. |
