Not by Might

Coffee Thoughts

Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD Almighty. Zechariah 4:6

That’s in the BIG book.  Read it!

You can write a lot. You can talk very loudly. You can jump and wave your Bible if you like. But when the dust settles, it’ll be done as it should be done. God will do His work, His way. We are participants.

Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.

Somewhere in all the noise, or in the quiet, God is saving such as should be saved. By His Spirit, the work of God marches on.

I am motivating and reminding  myself of the goodness of God this happy morning. My, my, I need a refill of Hallelujah juice!!

Are the Children In?

Are the Children In?

For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and currents on the dry ground. I will pour out My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring.
Isaiah 44:3

Our dear children do not have the Spirit of God naturally, as we can clearly see. We often see things in them that cause us to worry about their future, which drives us to fervent prayer. This verse should greatly encourage us. It follows the words, “Fear not, O Jacob, my servant,”and it should dispel our fears for our children.

The Lord promises to give His Spirit—plentifully, pouring it out generously. He will give it in such a way that it will be a true and lasting blessing to the generations. Under this divine outpouring, our children will come forward, declaring, “I am the Lord’s.”

This is one of those promises that the Lord wants us to pray for. Shouldn’t we earnestly pray for our children? We cannot give them new hearts, but the Holy Spirit can.

Our great heavenly Father delights in the prayers of fathers and mothers. Do we have any dear ones outside the safety of relationship with Jesus? Let us not rest until they are securely brought in by the Lord’s own hand.
